After completing his specialized secondary education in design, Shiva Gisiger studied for one year in the Bachelor’s program Visual Communication, Camera Arts at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), with a focus on photography. Following a gap year and an internship with fashion photographer Lukas Wassmann, he began his photography studies at ECAL in the summer of 2025.
Alongside his studies, Shiva works on various photographic projects and commissions and has also served as an Instagram content creator for HSLU DFK. Since early 2023, he has been a member of the organizing committee of the photography association Cameras and Beers Baden.
His photographic work is characterized by the diversity of people and places he portrays. He strives to capture his subjects in a way that is both aesthetic, authentic, and expressive.

Après avoir obtenu sa maturité spécialisée en design, Shiva Gisiger a étudié pendant un an dans le programme de bachelor Communication visuelle, Camera Arts à la Haute école de Lucerne (HSLU), avec une spécialisation en photographie. Après une année de césure et un stage auprès du photographe de mode Lukas Wassmann, il a débuté ses études de photographie à l’ECAL à l’été 2025.
Parallèlement à ses études, Shiva travaille sur divers projets et mandats photographiques et a également été créateur de contenu Instagram pour la HSLU DFK. Depuis le début de l’année 2023, il fait partie du comité d’organisation de l’association photographique Cameras and Beers Baden.
Son travail photographique se distingue par la diversité des personnes et des lieux qu’il met en image. Il accorde une attention particulière à capturer ses sujets d’une manière à la fois esthétique, authentique et expressive.

Nach seiner gestalterischen Fachmaturität studierte Shiva Gisiger ein Jahr im Bachelorstudiengang Visuelle Kommunikation, Camera Arts an der Hochschule Luzern (HSLU) mit Schwerpunkt Fotografie. Nach einem Zwischenjahr und einem Praktikum beim Modefotografen Lukas Wassmann nahm er im Sommer 2025 das Fotografie-Studium an der ECAL auf.
Parallel zu seinem Studium realisiert Shiva verschiedene fotografische Projekte und Aufträge und war unter anderem als Instagram-Content-Creator für die HSLU DFK tätig. Seit Anfang 2023 ist er zudem Mitglied des Organisationskomitees des Fotografievereins Cameras and Beers Baden.
Seine fotografische Arbeit ist geprägt von der Vielfalt der Menschen und Orte, die er porträtiert. Dabei legt er besonderen Wert darauf, seine Sujets auf eine Weise festzuhalten, die sowohl ästhetisch als auch authentisch und ausdrucksstark ist.
